Now Available: Courage to Fight by Pavan Kaur

He told me that I could trust him.
He told me he loved me.
I put myself in a place where I thought I would be safe again. Never did I think I would hurt more than I did before. But I do.
I let the wall fall around my heart, only for it to get burned.
I cried, but now I’m back and I won’t let the demons get me again.
I won’t make the same mistake twice…

But there he stands in front of me.
The man who hurt me.
Rhett Johnson

~~The opinions of this review are my own~~

Talk about a roller coaster of emotions! Scarlett and Rhett are amazing-as usual- in this second book. Not only are they completely distraught without each other, they are trying to live normal lives when the other half of their soul is not next to them. They want each other to fight for them. They want to be the one that matters, and when it comes to matters of the heart and soul, sometimes you can't think rationally. You try to do the best that you can with the information that you have, but ultimately when it comes down to it, you might have to make decisions that you may or may not like

I couldn't put this book down. Im being 100% honest when I say that my kindle when everywhere that I did. When my kindle died (gasp!! I know!!) I switched to my app on my phone so I could finish it. That is how captivating this book is! I have only read Courage to Trust and this book by Pavan. And now I am thinking that I need to go and purchase her other books. If they are as wonderful as Courage to Fight is, then I am missing out!

I knew I should have stayed away from Rhett Johnson. Captivating, beautiful, talented not to mention a UFC prize fighter, and a man who knows what he wants and he wants ME.

Who am I? Scarlett Parker. A maid in a luxury Vegas hotel. I’m damaged, broken and running away from the darkness around me. I don’t believe in happily ever after.

The attraction between us is like a drug, one we both dangerously need. Wounds break open as my past returns. Is this my happily ever after or is this a disaster waiting to happen?

This review took me a while to write. Not because it was a bad book, that is the furthest thing from the truth. It took me a while to write because I just didn't know where to even begin. If you have ever seen the movie Blue Crush, this is a little like that movie, where the maid of a swanky hotel starts a relationship with a guest. But, unlike the movie, this has so much more drama and suspense. More trust issues and apprehension than the movie. Courage To Trust has understanding, compassion and love. I loved the story of Scarlett and Rhett. I cried where I was supposed to, I got angry when I was supposed to, and got super happy or excited where I was supposed to.

Scarlett is a maid in a swanky hotel in Las Vegas. She doesn't have time to have any relationships with anyone. Her main goal is to make sure that her brother has everything that she never got. She also has a past that would scare anyone.

Rhett is a MMA fighter in town for 2 weeks for a tournament. When he sees Scarlett in his room, he knows that he needs to have her. He needs to get to know her.

But can her past stay in the past, or will it come back and haunt her?

The characters are really well developed and you can feel their personality when you are reading the book. There is enough mystery left to be solved that a second book will need to be written. I understand why Pavan did what she did with the characters. I understand why she left it as a cliffhanger. I'm sad at what she did, but I understand.

The story was gripping. I couldn't get enough of it. This is the first book that I have read by Pavan, and I can tell you that this isn't going to be the last.
