Prentiss “Hearing that story makes me wish I could have been the one to protect you,” he said. “I don’t need your protection,” I sniffed. “I’m little, but I can take care of myself.” “Everyone needs help. Sometimes.” He reached up and slid the hair back from his face exposing the scar on his cheek. I didn’t know how to answer that. I still didn’t know how he’d gotten those scars, but more than that, I didn’t know who I wanted protecting me now. I stepped through the fence. “I guess this is good-night,” I whispered. “Sleep well, doctor.” I shook my head and sneaked past the cabins across the dark yard and into the dormitory. Once inside I stood for several minutes with my face pressed against the doorjamb. Why was this happening? I wasn’t this kind of person. Other girls got their feelings all mixed up over boys, but I didn’t. That question had been settled in my mind years ago, and yet here I was acting like a starry-eyed little twit. I was failing in my job to rescue us. Everyone was counting on me, and here I was useless, fighting this battle with myself. I had to get it together. I had to get myself back on track, for all of us.

~~I received this in exchange for an honest review~~

Man, this is one of the best series that Leigh has put out! I couldn't put it down at all!!! In a small town something strange is happens. Prentiss is on her way to Dr. Greens, when suddenly everything goes dark. She wakes up, unsure of the day, and unsure where she is. All she knows is that she has to get out of there and back to Jackson. But, things aren't what they seem. The people that are holding her captive, aren't who they claim to be. And Gallatin isn't what she wants, or is he?!

OK, this series is seriously the best series that I have read in a while. I couldn't put it down at all. This series still has my attention, begging to be revisited!! There are so many things in this book that are fantastic, I am not going to give anything away because that is cheating. So here are my thoughts. Leigh has written a series that is refreshingly different than what I have ever read. There isn't any wild passionate love making, no poorly dressed people. This book is teenage love and the act of not wanting to listen to authority. Sometimes not listening is a good thing. Other times, well, you will just have to read the book to find out.
I am going to be re-reading this book again. It is that good! If you have never read Leigh's books, you are missing out. She writes with passion. You can feel the love she puts into her characters. They take on a life of their own and you can see it being played out in front of your eyes. I honestly thought that I was watching a movie and not reading a book. This book is well put together. You need to read this book now!

Readers are saying…

Full of nail biting suspense, this book is sure to keep your attention.” –Mandy “I Read Indie”

About the Author

Leigh Talbert Moore Leigh Talbert Moore wrote her first graphic novel at the age of nine--about a lady scientist burned by acid. Sadly, the text of "Fury Woman" was lost, and Leigh's novelist aspirations went on hiatus. Then, after a decade working in journalism, editing, marketing, and public relations, she began writing books again, and in 2009 completed Dragonfly. Today, Leigh is the author of several popular young adult and new adult novels, all with a strong romantic slant. She lives with her husband and two young children in the middle of the country, where she conjures new worlds, characters, and situations while playing chauffeur, chaperone, group activity leader, and referee. And she's still trying to remember the plot of Fury Woman...

Blog Tour: Enlightened by A.L. Waddington

Enlightened

A.L. Waddington will be on tour December 29-January 12 with her novel Enlightened Continuing where Essence, Book 1, EVE series ended, the barrier between Jocelyn Timmons consciousness continues to dissolve as she better understands the two lives she lives and enormity of her newly discovered inherited gift of EVE (Essence Voyager Era) which allows her to fall asleep on one plane of existence and awaken on another as her soul travels nightly. In Enlightened, Book 2, present-day Jocelyn uncovers the vast wonderment of the Victorian era but soon learns that life then was not as grand for women as she has read in the classics. Still, she finds comfort in the support of family and friends; a bolstering contrast to her overly hectic, career-oriented family in the twenty-first century. Her love for Jackson Chandler strengthens across time and becomes the light she so desperately needs as the world she has always known no longer makes sense. Yet, the closer she is drawn to Jackson by their mutual ability, the more strain develops amongst those she loves in 2009. On the other side of Jocelyn’s consciousness in 1878, she remains ignorant of EVE. Her life is crumbling around her, yet she finds herself anxiously awaiting the images that invade her dreams. Jocelyn longs to be the woman she portrays in that world yet her jealousy is unbearable. Miscommunication, betrayal and hidden agendas make trust near impossible. The clearer the visions become the more she questions motives of her closest confidants and foregoes revealing the images that plague her perception. As her life seems to unravel, Jocelyn’s two worlds collide, and she is enlightened as the pieces start to fall into place. But is she strong enough to survive the truth? Is Jackson really her destiny? And can their love transcend time? Please visit CLP Blog Tours for all the tour stops!

Man, this book I could not put down at all. This book also made me cry, but what this book didn't make me do was lose interest at all. We learn so much more in this book than in the first book. After I read Essence, I couldn't wait to read this book. I honestly could say that I do not think that I would be able to live in two different time periods, however, I don't think that I could give either one of them up as well. To have the knowledge that Jocelyn has in the nineteenth century that she has learned in the 21st century would be awesome. But, if you found out somethings that made you so unbelievably happy, it could jeopardize everything. Both Jocelyn's are starting to become fully aware of what is going on.

Man, this book took me on a roller coaster ride happy, then sad, then upset. But this book also gave me hope that everything is going to work out for the best for everyone.

Blog Tour: Going Down in Flames by Chris Cannon

Going Down in Flames by Chris Cannon
BLOG TOUR
BUY IT AT AMAZON: http://bit.ly/GDiFChris
BUY IT AT BARNES AND NOBLE: http://bit.ly/GDIFBnN

If her love life is going down in flames, she might as well spark a revolution.

Finding out on your sixteenth birthday you’re a shape-shifting dragon is tough to swallow. Being hauled off to an elite boarding school is enough to choke on.

Since Bryn is the only crossbreed at the Institute for Excellence, all eyes are on her, but it’s a particular black dragon, Zavien, who catches her attention.

Zavien is tired of the Council’s rules. Segregated clans, being told who to love, and close-minded leaders make freedom of choice almost impossible. The new girl with the striped hair is a breath of fresh air, and with Bryn’s help, they may be able to change the rules.

At the Institute, old grudges, new crushes, and death threats are all part of a normal day for Bryn. She’ll need to learn to control her dragon powers if she wants to make it through her first year at school. But even focusing on staying alive is difficult when you’re falling for someone you can't have.

~~I received this in exchange for honest review~~

OK, since this is the internet, most of you have no clue that I have 6 dragon tattoos, and want more! So when I started reading this book and found out that the characters were dragons, I knew that this book was going to take me on a wile ride!! And that is what this book took me on. Bryn is getting ready to turn 16, but when she does she is in a huge surprise. But a week before her birthday, her world is turned upside down. She has to leave everything that she knows and go to a boarding school for people like her. Being a human is hard, Being a half-breed dragon is hell.

I believe that this is the first book that I have read by Chris, and I can tell you that this isn't going to be the last. I mean, how could it? I really want to see what happens with Bryn and Zavian. You can tell that Chris gets really excited about writing. It shows in her words. This book is a roller coaster and it is a really wild ride. There are so many twists and turns in this book that you will read this book until there isn't anything left to read.

I couldn't put this book down at all. I loved every minute of this book that I read. I can't wait to read what Chris put out next!!
